Updated: Mar 3

How do Larches get their unique sound? well here is a Rig Rundown of their Guitars Amps, Pedals & Drums used for their Live shows and in the studio.

Sonny plays lead guitar using a Woodrite Vagabond or a Gibson SG through an EVH 5150 and a Beaten up 90's JCM 900 Cab. Nothing much in terms of pedals, except a Jim Dunlop Wah and a TC Electronics Cinders.

Joel plays Rhythm Guitar and uses a 2012 Gibson Les Paul standard ‘honey burst’ with Gibson USA humbucker pickups and a Bigsby tailpiece, he runs this through pedalboard consisting of a Digitech whammy, a Digitech Bad Monkey tube overdrive, an Electro Harmonix Little Big Muff, standard delay, a Fender spring 1963 reverb pedal and maestro FX mariner tremolo. Amp wise he uses a Randall RG150 G3+ amp head into a Marshall 4x12 cab.

Murph uses a relic'd squier classic vibe 70s jazz bass, the amp is an ashdown mag 300 with a 4x10 cab, pedals wise he uses a bass soul food for some scrongle, ehx bass big muff for that fat sludgy tone, and an akai flanger for some spacey sounds in there

George uses a beautiful Pearl Export Silver Sparkle Finish, with 2 rack toms and a floor tom to fully utilize his tom range and give fills the required depth and expression. For hi-hats, he uses a classic pair of 14" Stagg Brilliant Series. Whilst one is cracked, he places it on the bottom as it gives them a crispy edge. For his main crash, George uses a Zildjia

n 17" Z Series Crash, with a deep and sustained sound, really accentuating where necessary. For a china, a bright and trashy 18" Zildjian S Series China holds itself above the two rack toms. This is George's favourite cymbal as it gives him the ability to add a sound which slices through the mix and brings the accented beat to the forefront of attention. For a second crash, George uses an Istanbul Traditional 18" Crash. It gives a deep and washy sound, perfect for sustained crashing beats. For the ride, he uses a bright Paiste 802 Ride. It has a delicious crashy sound, but an even sexier bell. Finally, George uses a Paiste 6" 2002 Accent Splash, which is placed just below his first crash. This splash is used for beats and also fills depending on what the song warrants.
