Producer Mark Folland, based in the North East, offers a glimpse into his gear and his role in assisting local North East bands in recording and releasing their music to the public. Mark has been a key figure for Larches, having produced their single "Equilibrium" as well as their double single release "Ego Death / The Skin I Live In," which came out in October 2025.
Noah from Larches says "We always love heading across to Hartlepool to record in the studio with Mark. The studio is a converted church that has a unique atmosphere and a nice vibe, not only in the community run studios upstairs but the auditorium itself that has hosted a number of local and touring bands over the years.

Mark, our producer, has a remarkable ability to connect with us as artists. He always seems to get the best out of us, encouraging our individual strengths while fostering a collaborative spirit. His approach is not just about technical expertise; it’s also about understanding our vision and translating that into sound. He listens attentively to our ideas and often builds upon them with his own insights from his years of experience as an artist and a producer.
The mixing process becomes a collaborative effort where our input is valued, and Mark's expertise shines through. He always seems to understand the tweak's we want making to the mixes even in our lingo and the end result is always something we are proud of.
Our time in Hartlepool with Mark is not just about making music; it’s about creating an experience that nurtures our artistic growth and solidifies our sound. We leave each session eager to hear the rough mixes on the drive home with a sense of achievement and which track is going to be releases as the next Larches single.

Foll taps into years of experience to bridge the gap of quality and affordability for bands to ensure they can get a top end product that will suit their budget. Being able to set up a complete multi track rig in any location is perfect for saving time and money on recording studios and enabling projects like live sessions and guerrilla recording sessions, adding some interesting creative situations to the mix. Foll has worked with a host of local bands and artists running the full gamut of styles. Most sessions operate out of The Studio in Hartlepool which is a great charity ran community recording Studio.
