5th June 2026

The Larches burst onto the scene with their ferocious new single “Raxidermy,” the first release from their forthcoming five-track EP, Nihilistic Majesties.

Following the hard-riffing intensity of their previous single “Defenestration Blues,” the band returns with a deeper, darker dive into the sludgy underworld. “Raxidermy” showcases a heavier, more immersive sound, signalling a bold new chapter for the group as they prepare to unleash their latest material.

A staple set-opener in their live shows, “Raxidermy” wastes no time making an impact. High volume, relentless tempo, and a gut-wrenching scream from frontman Noah Annandale launch the track at full throttle. His vocals cut effortlessly through a dense wall of sound, driven by thunderous drums and a punishing bassline that powers the track from start to finish.

Guitarists Joel Hardwick and Sonny Evans lock in tightly, delivering crushing, unified riffs, while Alfie Murphy’s basslines add depth and force, pushing the song into a new wave of classic sludge metal. All of this is anchored by the precise and commanding drumming of George Moss, holding the chaos together with skill and intensity.

Blending elements of heavy alternative rock with sludge metal, The Larches are carving out a sound that will resonate with fans of Acid Bath, Eyehategod, and Crowbar. Known for their explosive and highly engaging live performances, the band has built a strong and growing fanbase across the North East.

With a string of shows planned throughout 2026, both locally and beyond, momentum continues to build—marking this year as a potential breakthrough moment for the band.

The upcoming EP, Nihilistic Majesties, will be released on Friday 24th July 2026, featuring five new tracks including “Drought” and “Corrosion.” To celebrate the release, The Larches will host an EP launch show at the Georgian Theatre in Stockton on the same night.

“Raxidermy” is available from 5th June on all major streaming platforms
